Insulation is 'cost-effective' in beating energy bills
As experts predict significant rises in home energy bills at the beginning of this year, it has been claimed that one way to keep costs down could be to insulate your property.Neil Marshall, chief executive of the National Insulation Association, has claimed that installing loft and cavity wall insulation are good ways to provide a "cost-effective" solution to beating rising gas and electricity bills. He explained: "With ever increasing living expenses it is more cost effective than ever to insulate your home in order to reduce energy bills and with the growing concerns on climate change insulation is a major way of reducing a carbon footprint."Mr Marshall added that installing insulation can help to cut the cost of energy bills by as much as £90 per year. The UK's fourth largest energy supplier, npower, confirmed earlier this month that there would be double-digit increases in its customers' gas and electricity bills and there are predictions that other suppliers will soon follow with similarly high increases.
