Are You An Online Shopping Addict?
As news that the UK is turning into something of a haven for online purchases sinks in, there are some who are a little concerned about the threat from over spending. It seems to be common knowledge that online sales will soon overtake offline sales, with the on going economic slowdown speeding up the process as consumers look for better value online. However, there is a concern that the ease with which money can be spent online will put many consumers at risk of over spending and ruin any financial plans they may have.
While there will be many in the financial world who would argue that consumers are more than capable of making up their own minds, there have already been signs of people over spending and losing control. It may well be that the credit card companies will need to step in and possibly introduce limits to the amount of money which can be spent in any one day - similar to the breakers which the gambling industry introduced some time ago.
Online spending is not just creeping up, it is really starting to pick up pace and the last thing the general consumers needs is yet more debt on top of the largest cumulative personal debt figures ever seen in the UK. A bargain is great, but buying items which you do not really need may just be a little too easy for some!
