It's all too little too late was the cry!
Gordon Brown is set to take a serious beating from the UK press in the morning after his attempted bail out of those struggling to pay their energy costs ran aground. Yet again he has promised yet failed to deliver, suggested financial help in the short term and reneged on all of his promises over the last few months.
If Gordon Brown was, as he said, able to get the UK energy companies to cough up £930 million today why could this not have been used to stop old people dying over the winter time? Or used to stop ten percent of the UK population falling into debt because they cannot cover their energy bills? The electorate would rather have had a 'short term gimmick' as oppose to a long term lame duck.
This really was the last throw of the dice for Gordon Brown and while his idea of assisting with energy saving ideas in the future would normally have gone down well with voters, it is cold hard cash many need now, just to see them through the winter months. Oh how the mighty have fallen, oh how they have promised much yet delivered very little.
