Managing your monthly budget
If you sit down and formalise your monthly budget today you will notice that it is very different from the budget you had just 12 months ago. The cost of energy has increased, the cost of food has increased and petrol has been up and down over the last 12 months. However, there are still significant numbers of people in the UK who are not aware of where their income is spent on a monthly basis. How can you expect to cut your costs when you're unaware what you are spending?
Many people across the UK have taken small but significant steps to reduce their cost of living using such techniques as buying cheaper produce in a supermarket, changing energy provider to the cheapest on the market, reducing their credit card spending and generally using the Internet to catch the best online offers. The Internet is possibly the one major tool which many in the UK are not using correctly as it does offer the potential to seriously reduce your cost of living.
There are also many websites available which will help you to apportion your monthly budget to different areas of everyday life and advise you on possible changes which you can consider and act upon in due course. The best money-saving ideas are the easiest ones but many people seem afraid or unwilling to consider "cutting their cloth accordingly".
