Have you considered a pay-as-you-go mobile?
While mobile phones have become more of a necessity than a luxury for many people in the UK, do you know how much you spend on your contract at the moment?
The vast majority of the UK public have moved or are considering moving to contract phones which often offer attractive deals but lock you in for varying amounts of time. It is very easy to use your contract mobile phone when perhaps your cheaper home landline phone would make more sense. The problem many people have with their contract phones is the fact that if you go over the usage limits there can be significant additional charges which may not be as competitive as you might have thought. It is also very difficult to keep track of your usage per month unless you have an online account and check it on a regular basis.
It is worthwhile considering a pay-as-you-go phone for use on the move but perhaps looking at better landline deals when you are at home. Mobile phone companies are well aware of the fashionable trend towards mobiles and despite severe pressure from the government and the EU authorities they had been unwilling, in many cases, to reduce their charges significantly.
