If your goods or services are substandard complain!
As with bartering, which is very common overseas, there seems to be a lack of complaining amongst UK consumers which can prove very expensive in the long run. How many times have you bought an item, whether it cost £1 or £1000, got it home and found even the slightest problem but did not take any action?
The bottom line is that if you acquire any goods or pay for any service and they are substandard you are well within your rights to complain and try to arrange a full/partial refund or replacement items or services. The UK consumer is literally losing millions of pounds a year by not complaining and making companies away that there are problems with their products or their services. If you have a genuine complaint and are able to prove there has been a problem what business in the world would not wish to accommodate you, to try and attract you back in the future?
If you put yourself in the shoes of business people who receive complaints, would you rather turn someone away who tells a friend who tells a friend........, or would you rather take a short-term hit and retain your reputation?
