Who will benefit when the economic upturn finally comes?
As the UK stock market continues to fluctuate on differing opinions and differing reports about the UK economy there is speculation as to who would benefit the most as and when the recovery does come. Some observers are starting to compare the UK economic situation, and the eventual recovery, with a dot-com style boom which could see wealthy investors pick up significantly undervalued assets before the rest of the market wakes up.
Whether you are looking on a five-year basis, ten-year bases are longer there is no doubt there is value in certain areas of the UK stock market. Which areas these are is open to debate and what level of returns can be expected in the future is also uncertain, but once the wealthy investors in the UK and the world start to put their money into the market maybe it's time to look again?
If you're looking to invest into the UK market, or any other worldwide stock market, it is vital that you take professional advice because these are still worrying times. Many companies have suffered substantial financial hits over the last 18 months and unfortunately many of these will not recover. Caution appears to be the watchword for the short to medium term!
