Domino Pizza still hot and spicy
Third-quarter sales from Domino Pizza, the U.K.'s leading company in the takeaway food sector, were 11% up on the corresponding period last year. Despite the fact that the UK is still gripped by the recession and more and more companies are struggling to survive, Domino pizza is still growing at a very impressive rate and apparently benefiting from more and more people who are staying at home rather than spend money in the pubs and clubs of the UK.
While there is no doubt that a concerted TV campaign by the company, which has seen it sponsor a number of high-profile TV programmes, has assisted in the growth in sales, the company already had a very sound and profitable business strategy. This is a company which has regularly surprised on the upside and today announced that full-year figures, to be revealed over the next few months, will be ahead of current analyst's forecasts.
Quite how you can keep up with a company which continues to grow, even in the deepest of recessions, is difficult but there is no doubt that Domino Pizza is a very focused and tightly run operation which continues to prosper.
