'No surge' in rental demand in 2008
It has been claimed that there will not be a huge rush for rental property in 2008, meaning investors should not seek to snap up as much property as possible.Due to the uncertainty in the property market, Lanlordzone.co.uk has argued that there may be a slight increase in demand for rental property over the coming 12 months, as more people decide to remain out of the property sector. But potential investors should not throw themselves into the market because this may not prove to be the best investment at the present time, explained Tom Entwistle, editor of Landlordzone."It will not be as easy for first-time buyers to buy because of the mortgage situation," he explained, meaning more people might be looking to rent for longer. However, he went on to point out that, in his view, "property prices are going to drop considerably", meaning that investing in property now might not be the best option.
