Anthony Bolton starts to buy equities again
While he may not be one of the best know names outside of the City, Anthony Bolton was one of the best known names in the City when he was a fund manager at Fidelity. However, the main talking point is the fact that he has started to invest his own money into the market although he has been very selective as to which areas he has been looking at. Is this a turning point in the market?
Even though Anthony Bolton has experience of many years in the industry even he is quick to point out that while the ingredients are there for the markets to rise it could get very much worse before it gets better. However, on balance he feels that in selective areas of the market there is the opportunity to pick up some bargains and lock them away for the long term.
Anthony Bolton is from the old school investment club where long term value is the key rather than short term bounces. While many short term investors do very well, there are even more who get their fingers burnt trying to chase a fast buck. A long steady drip feeding of funds into a market has always benefitted investors more in the long run.
