Alex Salmond comes out of his bunker when the firing stops!
Where was the Scottish government when the Lloyds Bank / HBOS deal was falling part? Where were they when the group needed the backing of prominent figures in the world of politics? Where were they when Lloyds Bank was expressing grave doubts about the pricing of the deal?
Finally after the Lloyds Bank / HBOS deal has been rubber stamped by the likes of Gordon Brown and major investors in the group, we now see Alex Salmond step out of his bunker. After setting off something of a minor battle with his criticism of Lloyds Bank he disappeared for a few days while the pressure increased. But he is now back, protecting the interests of Scottish workers in the new combined group.
When will these politicians accept that while it is all well and good to put your case forward, it is not correct to criticise companies which have put forward £12 billion to save a company which is half Scottish and half English. This is akin to someone buying a home and then the government telling them what to do with it, what style to decorate, etc. Unless people start to listen to the voice of Lloyds Bank again, we could well go down the very same road of uncertainty again.
