Is it time to cash in your stock market investments?

As the stock market continues to fluctuate wildly many investors seem on the verge of selling up and placing their investment funds on deposit. As we have mentioned on a number of occasions this growing mentality can often indicate the bottom of an economic cycle where investors lose patience and appear to sell out at almost any price.

While professional advice should be sought for your individual circumstance, investments should be considered as long-term even though the current economic slowdown is much tougher and potentially longer lasting than anything we have seen in recent times.

Even though it obviously depends upon which investments you hold many in the UK are likely to look back in a couple of years and wonder why they panicked out of the stock market. The main problem at the moment seems to be the lack of clarity with regard to an eventual pickup in the economy, something which seems to be of concern for many investors.

While now may not necessarily be a time to be increasing your investments you should continue to monitor them carefully and ensure that the companies in which you are invested are fully funded and appear to have a long-term future.

You should take professional financial advice before making any changes to your investment assets.
