What about the small business sector?
As the CBI reveals that smaller companies in the UK face their worst losses for over 20 years there is serious concern that the government is addressing the needs of large businesses and putting smaller companies well down the list. Despite pumping billions and billions of pounds into the UK economy it would appear very little of this funding has found its way to the smaller companies sector where cash flow and increased pressure on profit margins is causing major problems.
Historically the UK has been a hive of activity in the small business sector but the reluctance of UK banks to support small businesses in these troubled times has seen a sharp downturn in confidence. Despite a number of promises from the government that business finance would return to former levels this does not appear to be the case. By the time the UK government get around to looking at smaller companies there are serious concerns that many may already have gone under.
Many of the small companies of today are the large companies of tomorrow and unless there is support introduced in the short term we could see a significant hole appearing in the UK economy. Life is tough for all companies in the UK but for smaller companies the pressure is enormous.

Worldwide stock market plunge on recession fears
