And still the attacks on Sir Fred Goodwin continue!
Another day another dollar and yet more attacks on Sir Fred Goodwin as the UK government continues to defy public demands for more focus on the UK economy. Today the government has leaked the details of a new probe into Sir Fred Goodwin's sports spending at RBS and the company's interested in a valuable art collection after the takeover of ABN Amro which was effectively "given away". However, can we really believe all of the spin and rumours emanating from the government?
There are fears in some quarters that the attacks on Sir Fred Goodwin are becoming more and more personal and more and more damaging. Whispering campaigns have been circulating the city for some time amid suggestions that pressure is being placed upon the man himself to relinquish a large chunk of his Royal Bank of Scotland pension. The situation is now becoming farcical because Sir Fred has made it clear he will take the authorities to court under the human rights act if they attempt to reduce or undermine his pension scheme in anyway.
In a rather bizarre turnabout it was also revealed that Sir Fred Goodwin was still advising the government only two weeks ago, even after his pension fund debacle began. When will it all end?
