Buy to let entrepreneurs set to sell up for £180 million
Fergus and Judith Wilson have announced plans to dispose of their buy to let property empire which is valued at around £180 million. The couple have become something of a "pinup" in the buy to let sector having built up a property portfolio from zero which is now valued at around £180 million with only £45 million of debt. Despite the fact that the buy to let market has suffered over the last few months, the couple believe that now is the best time to dispose of their assets and there are rumoured to be a number of overseas bidders in the race.
While some experts believe the couple will need to reduce their asking price to conclude the sale, Fergus and Judith Wilson have certainly done better from the buy to let market than many others in the UK. Despite their obvious wealth, they still lead a fairly normal life although the £180 million which they expect to receive from the sale of their assets may well change that!
If nothing else, the experience of Fergus and Judith Wilson is that by building up a portfolio with very little or no debt it has been possible to protect themselves from the harshest winds of the ongoing recession. Against all the odds they are set to make a massive profit on their initial investment.
