Tesco Bank customers unable to access accounts
05/02/2015
Tesco’s online banking service has been hit by a computer fault, leaving thousands of customers unable to access their bank accounts.
Tesco bank customers trying to access current accounts, savings accounts and loan services have been affected since the problems first occurred on Tuesday. Credit card services have not been affected.
Tesco Bank has said that they are “working hard to resolve this matter as soon as possible”, but so far have not received a huge number of calls complaining about the problem. They have alerted customers on their website that there is a problem.
A spokesperson for Tesco Bank has advised customers to contact its call centres to process any account services while the problems continued. They said:
"We are aware that some of our customers are currently unable to view their accounts in online banking. We are working hard to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
"Customers can still continue to use their accounts as normal and can contact us by phone if they need any help with their account. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their patience"
Tesco has faced further controversy this week, as The Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) joins the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Reporting Council in investigating the supermarket chain, due to the supermarkets relationship with its suppliers.
