Is it safe to research products on the Internet?
The Internet has become a vital element of the UK financial arena and offers the opportunity for immediate access to deals, offers and financial products which may not otherwise have been visible to you. However, many people fall into the trap of assuming that because new products and new services are detailed on the Internet there is no need to take financial advice. Oh how very wrong they can be! Researching offers and products on the Internet will give you an understanding of what is available but ultimately speaking to the professionals will give you more of an inside track about the market. There may be new products on the way which have yet to be advertised, some of the older products and services may have ended, so ultimately some of the information on the Internet could be out of date or there could be better opportunities elsewhere. It is very dangerous to assume that information available via the Internet is a replacement for professional financial advice. Aside from the fact you may not always have the most up-to-date information available, if you arrange your own financial investments you may be reducing your protection in the event of problems. The Internet is basically a medium to portray services, offers and information to the world but that is not to say you should not seek third-party opinions before committing yourself to anything.
