New mothers forced back to work
In a sign of the times, it has been revealed that 56% of new mothers are ill prepared for the financial challenge of bring up a child especially within the current economic environment. It is now obvious that more parents than ever before are being forced back to work to make ends meet with a need to address the challenge of childcare.
This comes at a time when the Conservative party is looking to reduce the amount of benefits received by the "middle classes" in the UK, from a system which was initially set up to help those at the low end of the income scale. This is a very tricky one for David Cameron because effectively he is taking money from those who have supported him and have been traditional Conservative supporters in the past. Will he dare risk the wrath of the middle classes at the next election?
It is now becoming clear why many described the current government tenure as a "poisoned chalice" because there are so many difficult decisions to be made and so many people will be disappointed and annoyed. David Cameron certainly has his hands full although it has to be said he has made a good start to his time in office.
