What does 2010 hold for the UK stock market?

As 2009 comes to a close investors and analysts are starting to look ahead to 2010 and forecast the various scenarios we can expect to experience. So what does 2010 hold for the UK stock market and UK investors as a whole?

The truth is that opinion is very much split with regards to the 2010 economy which will impact heavily on the UK stock market and other investment markets. Some analysts believe that 2010 could well be as difficult as 2009 while others believe that 2009 will mark the end of the recession with a more stable economy over the next 12 months. The truth is that as we saw with the Dubai debt situation, there are still many uncertainties around the world and one thing is for sure, while 2010 may well be better than 2009 but it will certainly be an eventful ride.

As a consequence, it is vital that we all look towards our own financial situations and try to plan ahead in the New Year. This is the time of year when many people like to revisit and refocus their finances under the watchful gaze of their professional financial advisers. There will be opportunities, there will be issues but one thing is for sure, there will be no easy money to be made in the UK investment arena for some time to come!
