Entrepreneurs flock to the Internet
There are very few areas of life which the Internet has not yet touched but one area which has attracted massive attention is the ability to create your own website and your own online business in a relatively short space of time. The main attraction of the Internet is the fact that at the touch of a button you can increase your traditional local marketplace to a worldwide marketplace.
Many entrepreneurs have moved online over the last few years although it would be wrong to suggest that all of these moves have been successful. Even though the Internet has opened up new markets and new opportunities for many people it has also increased competition and there is a need to find your own relevant niche. Many people make the mistake of going for "whole markets" when in fact there are very lucrative and very reachable niche markets in every single industry.
For example, if you were looking to set up an insurance website affiliated to the main insurance providers in the UK you would have big problems getting exposure for all areas of the market such as home insurance, car insurance, health insurance, etc. However, if you focused upon one particular area of insurance for example pet insurance, or even the niche dog insurance market, you may be able to grab the attention of enough people to make your website a leader in its field and attract income at the same time. This is just an example of some of the basic errors online entrepreneurs have made and continue to make.
