There are still ideas out there attracting money!

Over the last few weeks the financial headlines have been full of doom and gloom with regards to the UK economy but last night saw a couple from Wales step forward with a great idea for a UK business. Alex Lewis and Letitia Valentine stepped into the ominous "Dragon's Den" on BBC one with an idea for a jacket to protect against hypothermia. While the idea was rejected by the majority of the Dragon's, Deborah Meaden stepped in with a £75,000 investment for a 45% interest in the operation.

The show was filmed back in May and while the contract has not been signed with Deborah Meaden it is in the pipeline as are a number of potentially very lucrative supply contracts. It is something of a breath of fresh air to hear good news in UK business arena at a time when many entrepreneurs are threatening to go overseas with their ideas. While shows like Dragon's Den are often ridiculed by the mass media they do offer the opportunity for exposure and potential investment which few business ideas could ever attract.

While a number of projects highlighted in Dragon's Den have fallen by the wayside there are a number which are still going strong today.
