One in three of the population hides debt problems
A report issued today is suggesting that one in three of the UK population is hiding debt issues from their families and struggling to make ends meet. This so-called "hidden" debt mountain is set to stand at around £55 billion and will be nothing but a millstone around the neck of many in the UK for many years to come. So are you one of the one in three keeping your personal finances secret?
It is believed that the average personal debt in the UK now stands at just under £10,000 with men most likely to lie about alcohol and women about clothing. This is a damning indictment of the UK economy and the UK population at a time when everybody needs to pull together to ensure a smooth passage out of this economic turmoil, towards the promised land.
When you also consider that unemployment has again risen to a record 2.5 million there are growing concerns about the debt situation many in the UK now find themselves. Can you imagine a situation where you are £10,000 in debt and your job is at risk? The financial, not to mention the mental, pressure which this can attract is enormous and could tip many people over the edge.
If you find yourself in financial trouble it is vital that you take professional advice sooner rather than later to try and keep a lid on your problems and stop them from getting any worse.
