Is David Cameron running scared?
David Cameron has given permission for the Saatchi advertising agency to be brought back under the Tory party umbrella amid signs that the Conservative party leader is concerned about a fall in the opinion polls. Despite the fact that the Labour Party has given David Cameron a number of opportunities to firm up his support over the last few months, it is in fact the Labour Party which has been significantly more successful in the polls of late. Indeed while few believe Labour will actually gain a majority at the next election, it could become involved in a hung Parliament.
As a consequence, David Cameron has now buried the hatchet with regards to alleged problems between himself and the Saatchi advertising agency and brought back one of the Conservative party's more trusted advisers. A number of recent advertising campaigns overseen by French owned advertising agency Euro RSCG have backfired, and indeed a number of Conservative party posters have been left vandalised and defaced around the UK.
It will be interesting to see if there is a change in direction regarding Conservative party public relations policy over the next few weeks because this is a vital time for David Cameron and he needs to get his policies across to voters as soon as possible.
