No pain no gain

As the new UK government continues to roll out facts and figures and comments about the previous government the truth is, no matter how it is wrapped up, there will be much pain in the short to medium term for the UK business arena and UK taxpayers, although hopefully this will lead to a steadier UK economy and prosperity in the longer-term.

While we are likely to see those on low incomes suffer less than those on higher incomes it seems almost inevitable that through direct taxes, and indirect taxes, all of the UK electorate will feel the pain. No pain, no gain is a popular saying and it is one which directly relates to the current situation we find ourselves in with regards to the UK economy and UK financial situation.

Over the next few weeks we are likely to see lobbying from an array of different associations in the business arena and many different parties looking out for UK taxpayers. We will see disagreements between the coalition government and opposition parties and could actually see differences within the coalition government itself. The truth is that there is no easy way to replenish the UK coffers and there's no easy way to get the UK economy back on track.
