Kraft Foods looking to create jobs at Cadbury
Despite headlines over the last few days suggesting that Kraft Foods would introduce a cull of jobs at Cadbury in the UK it seems that the company has very different plans. It has been revealed over the weekend that Kraft Foods is actually looking to create more jobs in the UK in the medium to longer term after assessing the situation and cutting out any synergy savings in the short term.
Whether the company is simply giving the press the headlines that the government wants to hear remains to be seen but there is no doubt there is little overlap between the current Kraft Foods operation and Cadbury. This means that with more focused and aggressive marketing and investment we could indeed see an increase in the UK workforce which would ultimately help the UK economy. So while Kraft Foods has received harsh criticism in the press over the last few days, perhaps this US giant has a few more surprises up its sleeve and may not be going down the path of "asset stripping" one of the U.K.'s best-known brands!
As ever, the proof is in the pudding and we should soon begin to see exactly what Kraft Foods has in store for Cadbury and its UK workforce.
