David Cameron to get personal with attack on Labour leader

David Cameron will this week light the blue touch paper for the forthcoming UK election with a highly personal attack on Gordon Brown and his "secretive, power hoarding, controlling character". In what is sure to be one of the most personal attacks ever released by the Conservative party leader he will list a number of U-turns and "cynical attempts to save his own skin" which he believes will show the real Gordon Brown to the UK electorate.

However, this is a very dangerous and very risky strategy from the Conservative party which had seemed to have taken the high moral ground with regards to "gutter politics". However, it has to be said that David Cameron has been the victim of various personal attacks and rumours of late, said to have been instigated by Labour Party supports. Indeed his recent battles with Gordon Brown over Prime Minister's question time have become more and more heated.

The problem for the Conservative party is the potential to take away the focus from the UK economy which many believe offers their best chance of securing victory at the next election. Despite the fact that the UK economy moved out of recession in the final quarter of 2009 there are concerns that the economy may weaken in the short to medium term which should give David Cameron an open ticket to win the next election. But will he be able to push this advantage home?
