Who do you trust with the UK economy?
It seems that we have polls in the newspapers for everything regarding the election including what type of car you associate with the political leaders, whether you believe the budget is good for the UK economy or indeed whom you trust with the UK economy. So who do you trust with the UK economy?
The most recent polls seem to suggest that the Conservative party is the most trusted party regarding the UK economy in the future, although rather bizarrely it seems that the partnership of Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown is favoured above that of David Cameron and George Osborne. There has been speculation that George Osborne, even if the Conservative party wins the next election, will not be in a position to take up the role of Chancellor of the Exchequer with rumours and counter rumours regarding potential names in the hat to replace him.
There is a feeling within the Conservative party that perhaps they should have appointed a better known and more vocal shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer although it is too late to change this just prior to the election. This is perhaps the reason why Ken Clarke has become involved in Conservative party policy making and public relations, due in the main to his experience at the Treasury when he himself was Chancellor of the Exchequer.
