Can we believe the latest opinion polls?
The latest polls today made good reading for the Conservative party quoting them at 36%, Labour at 29% and the Liberal Democrats at 27%. But can we believe the latest polls which would give David Cameron's party the most seats in the House of Commons?
While there is no doubt that opinion polls will sway some voters as we approach election day the truth is that we will not know what the outcome of the general election until the day after polling day. Many people are often guarded in their answers to the pollsters and indeed many of the polls in today's newspapers give very different figures.
While there's no doubt that David Cameron is at worst holding his own there is also no doubt that support for the Liberal Democrats is not falling too far and indeed those who write off the Labour Party do so at their own risk. There will be many twists and turns in the final days before election day and all parties will be looking to get their points across, ensuring as fewer gaffes as possible. These are the vital days of the election campaign and all of the political parties are well aware of this.
