Next government urged to help businesses as soon as possible
The British Chambers of Commerce has today stepped forward to remind the next government that a number of issues need addressing in the business arena. While the next few days are likely to be dominated by various pacts and promises to the UK consumer it is the business arena which will push the UK economy forward in the short, medium and longer term. The British Chambers of Commerce believe that decisions made in the next 90 days could dramatically affect the performance and direction of the UK economy throughout the rest of 2010.
There are growing concerns that a coalition government would at best see many policies delayed and at worst see some policies fall by the wayside. Despite the fact that many politicians would have you believe a coalition government offers no threat to the UK economy there are many business leaders who believe that the slow pace of a coalition government could be detrimental to the recovery and growth of the UK economy.
This is just the first of a flurry of expected announcement and statements from various business and public sector bodies over the next few days. We will see much horsetrading between the political parties as the general election campaign comes to a head.
