Is George Osborne gambling with our futures?
As the dust settles on the coalition government's first budget there are growing concerns that George Osborne is gambling the future of the UK on an economic revival which some experts believe may not materialise. By reducing spending in the public sector, which in reality he was forced to do, this will have an impact upon the economy, as well as the increase in taxes which has not gone down well with the UK population. So how long before we know if his budget has been a success?
It will take some time to find out whether this budget has worked to plan but if things go wrong in the euro zone then difficulties may well appear sooner rather than later. However, if George Osborne proves to be an expert at managing and manipulating the UK economy he could well go down as one of the best Chancellors there has ever been. Even though it is too soon to crown George Osborne there is no doubt he has a chance to make a real name for himself.
However, if the UK economy turns down and the UK is pushed back into a recession then George Osborne's time at number 11 Downing St. could be very short-lived.
