Do you get value for money from your local council?
In these times of economic hardship every person, every company and every council across the country is looking to save money where possible. However, despite the fact that many people are on the verge of serious financial trouble we still see local council taxes and general taxes continuing to creep higher. But are you really getting value for money from your local council? Do you feel your money is being well spent?
The vast majority of people will probably be of the opinion that their local council seems to require more and more money when many services have been cut back and in some cases closed. The collection of refuge is one particular matter which has caught the attention of millions of people across the UK, where many bins are only collected every two weeks and there seems to be more interest in recycling goods. There has also been constant talk of bin taxes for those who do not recycle a significant amount of their waste, which would again increase the taxation paid to local councils at the expense of consumers.
Many people will not be aware, but a larger and larger portion of council tax income is now used to replenish council tax pension schemes, many of which are final salary and saddling UK consumers with larger and larger pension fund liabilities for the future.
