Online shoppers happiest clicking at Waitrose

Customers at Waitrose's online store are the most satisfied users out of any supermarket website, a new survey has shown.Consumer watchdog Which? says that more than two-thirds of Waitrose online shoppers are very satisfied with the service on offer.Ocado, which sells Waitrose goods and is part-owned by John Lewis, polled second with 64 per cent satisfaction rates. But the online stores of Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda fared less well, with 30 per cent and 24 per cent of customers rating the latter pairs' services as satisfactory.Websites were gauged in terms of ease of use, shopping list accuracy, delivery times and produce quality. But although Waitrose and Ocado both performed well across all categories, it was Asda which received the highest rating for value for money.Overall, three-quarters of respondents said they found online shopping more convenient and efficient than going to their local supermarket.Commenting on the results of the survey, Malcolm Coles, editor of the Which? website, said: "It's no surprise that Waitrose and Ocado have emerged as clear favourites in the battle of the online supermarkets â€" shopping online is all about convenience, and our survey shows that people don't mind paying a bit extra if they know they'll get good quality products and service in return."
