Are you feeling the benefits of the economic upturn?

Despite the fact that recent figures suggest the UK economy is finally pulling free of the recession, unemployment is down and the banking sector is starting to return to something resembling normal, are you benefiting from the economic upturn?

Experiences of the UK population appear to differ greatly depending upon the area in which you live, but one thing is for certain, the increase in economic activity has not yet filtered through to ground level. More and more people in the UK are still feeling the pinch, many are still unable to cover their mortgage payments and bankruptcies are set to increase in number for the next 12 months or so.

The politicians would have us believe that the UK has finally returned to the "boom times" when in reality UK taxpayers have been left with a heavy burden which will take decades to reduce. The UK national debt is well over £1 trillion and UK consumer debt has been quoted as high as £1.5 trillion. The UK dependence upon the property market has in many ways backfired with more and more people struggling to retain their homes, somthing which could well put more pressure on the property market in the short to medium term.
