Is tax planning really as vital as people say?
When the subject of tax planning arises many people seem to switch off assuming that there is nothing they can do to protect their assets for the future. However it is vital that we all consider tax planning at some point as it can really save large amounts of money in the long run and potentially maximise any assets who may wish to leave for your family.
There are many different elements to tax planning such as inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax. The assumption that tax planning is only applicable to those with substantial amounts of money is not always true and has seen many of the general public in the UK give up large amounts of the income and assets in needless tax payments. Looking after your family after your death is not a subject many people like to discuss but it is one which needs to be considered strongly.
There is also a genuine assumption that tax planning advice is expensive, while again this is not always the case. There are many websites are available which will point you in the right direction and see that you obtain the correct advice for your situation.
