Have you made out your will?
While death and inheritance are two subjects which the vast majority of the UK population are scared to discuss, they are subjects which need to be addressed on an ongoing basis. In many cases where there is a surviving spouse it is highly likely that the vast majority of assets will be transferred over, with some possibly redistributed amongst family members. However, where there is no surviving spouse and no will in existence it can become very very tricky.
It is no surprise to see that many family disputes and family fallouts can occur upon the death of a much loved family member. Unfortunately, death and inheritance have been known to bring out the worst in people and cause very difficult and very upsetting situations. Even if you are 20 years old, 30 years old or 60 years old it is vital that you have a will in place which will direct, in a clear format, when and who would receive any of your assets.
It is very simple to produce a will, with many available online, although it is highly advisable to take professional advice and ensure that you are doing the "right thing" and your wishes will be respected on your death.
