Simple energy-saving ideas for the home
Over the last 18 months we have seen the subject of energy bills hit the headlines on numerous occasions as the cost of gas and electric in particular continues to rise. It is therefore essential that where possible you look to make energy savings around the home and to be honest there are many easy ways to reduce energy bills.
Even though many of us appreciate that we should switch off all electrical appliances at night time how many of us actually do this? We all know that a TV on standby still uses electric even though it could be out of use for during any one day. There are significant savings to be made here in the longer term.
The washing machine is another common household appliance which literally eats into your monthly income and can be very inefficient if not used correctly. While there is the obvious need to ensure that each load is full, or as full as can be, many electricity plans will offer a cheaper electric at certain points of the day, so why not make use of this for your washing requirements?
The tumble dryer, one of the more popular items of the recent era, is another electrical appliance which literally devours your income. These are very expensive machines to run so if the weather is fine why not dry washing on a washing line?
