Britons save a billion with 'bundles'
Two thirds of British households have some services all with the same provider, saving them an average £124 per year, according to price comparison website uSwitch.com.Sixteen million people opt for some kind of 'bundle', including a selection of broadband, landline, digital TV and mobile phone products, saving UK customers £1.1 billion collectively per year. The most common package is to use the same provider for broadband and home phone services, with 33 per cent of customers choosing to do this.Of those service users who have not yet signed up for package deals, 27 per cent said that they are planning to do so within the coming year.Steve Weller, head of communications services for uSwitch.com commented: "The reality of modern life is that most people now need and use more than one telecommunications service. Bundles are a good solution and can provide fantastic value and convenience, but you have to do your homework."Mr Weller advised: "A number of factors need to be considered before signing up to a bundle. Having 'all your eggs in one basket' may not be right for everybody. Contracts tend to be longer and if the company has a poor customer service reputation in one product area, it may impact on the other areas."
