Britains set to shun the Eurozone for holidays further afield
Turkey, Egypt and Morocco are this month appearing as the more popular venues for UK tourists in 2009. Early booking indications show that the substantial fall in the pound against both the euro and the dollar has seen more and more holidaymakers look elsewhere for their breaks next year. When you consider the substantial fall in the exchange rate of the pound against the euro and the dollar there would appear to be much better value elsewhere.
This comes at a time when holiday companies in the UK are set to induce a substantial price war as the battle for early January bookings come to the fore. January is well known as one of the more important months of the year for the holiday industry as the continuation of the festive spirit sees more and more UK travellers planning ahead for 2009.
The historic UK favourites such as Spain and Portugal will this year see a substantial reduction in visitor numbers as the holiday net is cast wider than ever before. This has and continues to open up new markets in places such as Turkey, Egypt and Morocco in the never-ending chase for value for money.
