Number of female investors increasing, cautiously
More women are looking to invest their money, but many lack confidence in the financial world, according to independent financial advisor, AJS Wealth Management.Anna Sofat, director of AJS Wealth Management, said that a new group of female investors is emerging, who want to invest but is careful about taking risks, made up of women who 'don't like finance but do like money.' A recent survey by stockbrokers Hoodless Brennan showed that 98 per cent of their female clients did not consider themselves experienced stock market players, and only seven per cent called themselves risk takers - compared to 16 per cent of men questioned.Mrs Sofat said that women were likely to be "more cautious" than their men, and tended to prefer to invest in more "tangible" assets like property. She said women should not be intimidated by the financial world and it's "jargon and complexities", and should remember that investing is all "about giving them the lifestyle that they want or they aspire to."
