Invest in a hotel room, Assetz suggests
Putting money into a budget hotel room could be a handy investment in the current financial climate, according to Assetz. The investment group said that the room could handily be put in to a property-based Self Invested Personal Pension.Budget hotels are booming due to the financial downturn with many travellers looking for a cheaper accommodation option, Assetz said.Greater demand is likely to lead to the hotel room being used more - providing greater returns.Indeed, potential yields on hotel rooms could be from six to eight per cent, according to the firm.Stuart Law, chief executive of Assetz Development, commented: "We are offering IFAs and their clients access to an asset class which is actually benefiting from the downturn, providing the ideal opportunity for pension investors to boost their retirement income with a low priced, high yielding property asset. "This is an ideal fully-managed, hands-off property investment for a pension as part of a balanced portfolio and is for people seeking good levels of income rather than a speculation."
