Labour Party rolls out the big wigs
In a final throw of the dice it has been confirmed that Tony Blair will play a more active role in what remains of the general election campaign amid hopes that he can bring the feel-good factor back to the Labour Party. There is no doubt that Gordon Brown has taken something of a battering over the last few days and despite what many think he may or may not have done to the UK economy, there is some sympathy for his cause.
Despite the fact that the Conservative party is ahead in the polls, with the Liberal Democrats second and the Labour Party third, there is still much to play for. Unless we see a significant turnaround in the final few days of the election campaign it seems that we are heading towards a hung parliament where even the third-place Labour Party could hold the most seats. Many people in the UK do not fully understand the current electoral system and will find it unbelievable that potentially the Labour Party could in fact end up with the most seats in the Houses of Parliament even if it is pushed into third place!
Amid rumours that many of the Labour hierarchy have effectively "thrown in the towel" this is not the end of the road and we could have many twists and turns yet.
