Is trust a big factor in your financial decisions?
As we have covered on more than one occasion, the vast majority of people in the UK tend to stick with their own bank for loans, mortgages and insurance. Despite the onset of the Internet and the massive expansion of the financial comparison market it seems that many people are happy to stick with those whom they "trust". However, while there is some credence to the trust factor when choosing your financial products in the future, there are significant opportunities for other companies to improve on the offers you may be considering.
We have made the comparison on numerous occasions that if you require DIY in your home you would not go to a plumber to do the electrics and you would not go to a painter to fix your roof. If you look at the DIY sector as the financial sector then you need to go to an insurance specialist for your insurance, a mortgage specialist for your mortgage, etc, etc. It is too easy to get wrapped up in the trust factor and while it does have a part to play there are many trustworthy names in the financial sector that may be able to improve on the offers you are considering and save you money.
