Has Gordon Brown done enough to save his skin?
While it has to be said that Gordon Brown (with his Chancellor hat on) has played a blinder over the last couple of weeks, has he done enough to regain the trust and support of the UK voter? Has he pulled himself back from the brink in true Gordon Brown style?
Even though the government is now back in the running with the UK electorate there is still much to be done. How will he handle the local council Icelandic deposit crisis? How will he help the elderly with their energy bills through the winter?
The one major problem which the PM could have over the next few months is the fact that he has been put forward as the saviour of the worldwide economy, but what can he do for the UK tax payer to ease the financial pain? Has he the funding to help those less fortunate in society?
The difficulty is that he could be seen to be 'doing a Tony Blair' and concentrating on overseas activities while neglecting the UK electorate. It is all well and good helping the US and Europe but what does it all mean to the man and woman on the streets of the UK? Will they feel the winds of change?
The UK tax payer has a very short memory and when the next crisis or issue of concern arises, all of the PM's good work over the last few weeks could be lost forever.
