Do you really need the full Sky package on your TV?
In years gone by the first casualty in any economic downturn would have been luxury items and luxury services such as Sky TV and cable TV packages. However, more and more families are relying upon these services to entertain both themselves and their children and many would rather pay out anything up to £100 a month for these services and cut back on other essentials. But does that really make sense?
This is a reflection of the ongoing dependence on television for young children in UK, often to the detriment of their general health. Fitness and exercise has completely gone out of the window for many young children of today but maybe the ongoing recession is a chance to resurrect health and fitness for the family. Do you really need 20 cartoon channels? Do you really need live sports?
While there are obvious occasions where buying TV subscriptions, broadband and telephone services as a bundle are very economical, are you really making the most of the services available. If you have different TV providers, telephone providers and broadband providers you will no doubt be paying more than you really should. If you decide that your TV subscriptions, with for example Sky, are merited then why not consider the full package of broadband and telephone services as well?
