Car Parking Appeal Wins Hit 94%
At this moment in time it seems as though the cost of running a car in the UK is going higher and higher with little likelihood of a reduction in costs in the short term. However, there is a little bit of good news with confirmation that overall, councils across the UK are losing 94% of car park fine appeals. This has seen thousands of drivers winning the fight to over turn unfair car parking tickets in the courts and saving themselves literally millions of pounds.
This has prompted a furious debate among the driving associations and civil rights groups with many pointing out that councils up and down the country are issuing tickets indiscriminately in order to increase council income, with many issued affectively illegally. There is also anger that many drivers who have complained in the past have seen their arguments fall on deaf ears and rejected by the councils involved.
Many drivers are unaware that they can take their claims further and involve an impartial adjudicator who will ensure that the case receives a fair hearing. The fact that many councils are not even challenging the fines which are turned over on appeal is a reflection of the standard of penalties being dished out.
