How would you survive if you lost your job tomorrow?
While this headline may seem something like a scare story it is reality for more and more people throughout the UK as employment prospects continue to worsen and the economy bites harder at everyday businesses. If you are one of the unfortunate millions in the UK who have lost their jobs or see their positions at serious risk, it is essential that you look to the future and ensure that you know your rights and the benefits and payments you can claim.
The government recently announced the mortgage rescue scheme, and while the scheme has yet to really take off yet, it could be something you need to take account of in the future. There are also various rescue packages and social security payments which you may or may not be entitled to depending upon your level of savings. Those with families are the ones who are probably most at risk of serious financial hardship, although there are many single people throughout the UK feeling the pinch.
In these troubled times it is vital that we all review our daily and monthly budgets and ensure that we are spending within our means and identify any other savings which may be available.
