Don't be afraid to ask for a better deal off your bank

In these times of financial distress many people have been seen to take the first option available to them with regards to mortgages, loans and overdrafts. A number of people in the UK feel that they are lucky to receive any opportunities in these particular fields with liquidity still very low and difficult for many to access. But should you not be looking for a better deal in the marketplace or should you just be happy to get help?

For those who are looking for mortgages, loans and overdrafts it is easy to forget that you are as important to the bank as the bank is to you. Where you are aware of a better rate elsewhere why not simply ask your bank to match that rate or at least improve its own offer. The bottom line is, as in many areas of life, unless you ask a better deal there is no way that the bank will voluntarily give up any profitability to you. It is your duty to ask for a better deal, even if in some situations you need to stay firm and walk away if your bank is not willing to go the extra mile for you.

Remember that you are as important to the bank as the bank is to you!
