Should David Cameron go to alone?
Despite the fact that David Cameron is well short of an overall majority in the House of Commons there are calls tonight for him to create a minority government. Many believe that if David Cameron wants to grab the keys to number 10 Downing St. ahead of the Queen's speech on 25 May there is no way that the other two political parties would look to force him down and trigger yet another general election. So will David Cameron grab the bull by the horns?
At this point in time it seems that talks with the Liberal Democratic Party are progressing fairly well, despite the fact that Gordon Brown has attempted to gatecrash the party this evening, and he would rather go into coalition with an overall majority. However, the very fact that Nick Clegg has apparently opened formal negotiations with the Labour Party would suggest there are significant stumbling blocks between Nick Clegg and David Cameron.
So far the Liberal Democrats and the Conservative party have yet to make any formal announcements following Gordon Brown shock revelation and we await news in due course. Where this political story will end is anybody's guess as the water is muddier today than it ever has been.
