Susan Boyle set to make £5 million
She may have come second on reality TV show Britain's Got Talent but opera singer Susan Boyle is set to have the last laugh after being mocked. The shy lady from West Lothian has become one of the most popular reality TV stars of all time with a YouTube clip watched by over 100 million people around the world. She has been to America, she has been on chat shows, she has been under pressure and she has come through. While second place will not see her grab the £100,000 prize on offer (as well as a performance at the Royal Variety Show) she is set to do very well indeed.
In these times of economic difficulties, rising unemployment and fatcat banking moguls under more and more pressure in the papers it is refreshing to see a member of "ordinary Joe public" grabbing the headlines and grabbing the money. Susan is due to record an album over the next few weeks which is expected to see her tour the world and rake in the money. Predictions that Susan Boyle will rake in £5 million from television, advertising and record deals are if anything on the low side.
For once it appears that a member of the ordinary public has hit the jackpot!
