What will happen if the UK coalition government falls apart?
While there have been murmurings of discontent amongst the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrat party with regards to the makeup of the coalition government, so far we have seen no truly visible signs of cracks. However, there are strong rumours that Vince Cable, the business secretary, is unhappy with the current immigration policy which the UK coalition government has put in place, which he believes is impacting upon the UK business arena.
If the coalition government was to fall apart and a new election was called this would be a disaster for the UK economy, the UK credit-rating and would ultimately paralyze the UK as a whole. Despite various people suggesting that the coalition is not as strong as many people had hoped there is a need for all parties to pull together for the greater good of the UK as a whole.
Even though David Cameron's proposed public-sector spending cuts have not received universal acclaim, there is no doubt in the minds of many that without these proposed cuts the UK credit rating would be under more pressure than it is at the moment. In many ways it is a simple situation of better the devil you know, because another election and another potentially hung parliament would paralyze the UK for many months to come.
